Friday, June 21, 2019 - Classroom Sign-in, safety, firearms familiarization, and dry-firing, 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Saturday, June 22, 2019 – Range Instruction
Rifle range and pistol range instruction, 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m
Lunch and networking, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Shotgun instruction, skeet range, 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Wrap-up, photos, certificates, 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Sign-in, safety, firearms familiarization, and dry-firing, 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Cost: $25.00 (Payment required with pre-registration, free goody bags for all registrants.) Cost includes use of firearms, targets, ammunition, lunch, and t-shirt.

Class limited to 30 female students, 18 and over. Clinic is rain or shine.

Hunter Safety Class (FREE!)

There will be a spring hunter safety course at Presque Isle Fish and Game Club Wednesday, April 10th 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturday, April 20th. 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Home Study: The complete the home study you must attend the Wednesday class to retrieve the workbook. We encourage you to both days but if you're completing the online training the Wednesday is not required, but you must bring your certificate for an online class to the Saturday class. Please plan to spend about 8-10 hours for either the workbook or the online training. Students must also bring a survival pack to the Saturday class. This will be discussed at the Wednesday class as well.

Fall Class Dates: 
A hunter safety class will be held at the PIFG September 19 6:00 PM and September 29th 8:00 AM. You may chose to do this as an online study and one day in person class by completing the program and bring your certificate to the class on Saturday. Otherwise you must attend the Wednesday evening to get your workbook. You are welcome to attend both sessions even if you chose to complete the online training rather than the workbook. https://www.hunter-ed.com/maine/

Do you want to learn more about selecting, owning, operating and properly storing a firearm? Do you want to get your concealed carry permit? Consider taking our NRA Basic Pistol course lead by certified club member instructors. 


NRA Basic Pistol
This course is at least 8-hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest position, and two handed standing positions; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination, course completion certificate and wallet card.

This is the required course to be eligible to obtain a State of Maine Concealed Carry Permit.
